Get To Know Me

I grew up in California, but since high school have lived all over the west and Texas following my career in technology. In 2020, we decided to move to Utah to be closer to family, friends, and the outdoor activities that we love. I have a great family of 4 kids and we love watching movies and doing outdoor activities together like skiing, golfing, and hiking with our golden retriever, Reggie! Church has also been a passion of mine and I've stayed active through scouting and more recently as a Young Men's leader. I served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Taiwan and learned to speak Mandarin Chinese, although I don't use it as much as I used to sadly. Serving in the church has been a great sense of pride my whole life and I hope to be able to serve more missions in the future.

My Education and Profession
I went to BYU and Southern Methodist University for my undergrad degress in Business and Financial Consulting. At SMU, I was named the top student in my major and graduated with one of the highest GPAs in the class. Studying finance helped me learn valuable analytical and business skills and start me off in a great career in technology.

At first I worked for Intel as a financial analyst and helped managed multi-million dollar budgets, analyze contracts, and identify efficient budgeting technics to meet our goals. That was a rewarding career, but I decided I wanted to try some new things so I got my Masters in Business Administration at BYU and started a new career in marketing. Marketing gave me a chance to use more of my creative and strategic skills which has been really rewarding. For the last 13 years, I've managed multi-million dollar marketing campaigns. Now I work for a smaller company called Veeam and lead a team responsible for a $20M budget for a $1.5B product.

More recently, my wife and I have been getting more entrepreneurial as a way to offset inflation and greater family costs. My wife has been working as an independent distributer for almost 10 years and I started a side business renting cars on Turo. These businesses have helped us get closer to the community and understand more of the challenges small businesses face here in Utah.

Why Move to Utah

After starting to work remotely in 2019, we could have moved anywhere. But ultimately we decided to choose Utah for lots of reasons. Its a safe place with great people and close to many of our friends and relatives. We love having a strong community of faith around us and being closer to our Alma Mater, BYU.
